The Movie in Your Mind: How Your Thoughts Affect Your Body

Did you know that your thoughts—what you say to yourself and the pictures you see in your mind—can actually change how you feel? Your brain is like a movie projector, constantly playing scenes in your head. And here’s the thing: your body reacts to that movie as if it were real. Just like watching a good movie, you can also be glued to the screen of, The Movie in Your Mind.

The Movie in Your Mind, is an insightful and visually engaging book, that draws from behavioral science, psychology, and neuroscience to demonstrate how the narratives we create in our mind, shape our reality. This book brings it’s concepts to life in 181 pages with colorful visuals that enhance your reading experience.

Why This Matters to You

  • Your thoughts create your reality. If you fill your mind with positive words and images, your body will respond in a good way.
  • You have the power to change and control how you feel. If you focus on calming thoughts, your body will relax.
  • Your brain believes what you tell it. So why not feed it thoughts that help you instead of hurt you?

The movie in your mind is playing all day long. The question is: Are you choosing the right scenes?

“Rewrite Your Reality Frame by Frame.

Master the Movie in Your Mind”

“Every thought you have is a scene in the movie of your life. Are you directing your success—or just watching the same old script play out?

“The Movie in Your Mind” is the analogy I use to describe the images in our mind  which occur, when we think or engage, with vivid thoughts.“

I refer to this phenomenon where we mentally visualize the events, characters, settings, and actions involved in the narrative or, our perception, of people, places, things, events, or situation, in our life. And be mindful, “just because you have a thought, does not make it true”.

When you and I do this, we are creating a rich and immersive experience, like watching a movie. And we are often glued to the screen, subconsciously. Often, we are in a hypnotic, trance-like state.

These mental movies tell our brain how to make us feel. We can be washing dishes, driving, or doing something non related to the movie but mentally we are glued to the screen of, “The Movie in Your Mind”.

With this analogy I highlight the power of imagination and the way that our mind constructs elaborate scenes and scenarios. The Movie in Your Mind: How Your Thoughts Affect Your Body

Rewriting the Script: By recognizing and altering your internal dialogue and beliefs, and the images in your mind, you can effectively “rewrite the script” of “The Movie in Your Mind”, leading to changes in both your psychological and physical well-being.

The Movie in Your Mind isn’t just about visualization—it’s about taking control of your mental film, reshaping limiting beliefs, creating empowering beliefs, and rewriting your reality. This book gives you the tools to edit your inner narrative, think in images, and break free from negativity, and create the life you truly want.

💡 Your mind is the screen. Your thoughts are the script. Are you ready to direct your own success?

If we’re not careful, we risk living with an ancient mentality in a modern world. Old memories, childhood impressions, and outdated perceptions can blind us to the possibilities around us. Where we are today is the result of the movies we’ve been playing in our minds, and childhood programs installed in us by parents and authority figures who, perhaps meant well but did not know the language of the brain and the subconscious mind..

What if you could rewrite the script? The Movie in Your Mind What if we could consciously use the movies in our mind to shape our future and create the life we truly want? Think about it, everything you own or achieved began as a movie in your mind. We can, and we do it everyday.

Your Brain and Body Are Connected

Your in Control

Think about this:

  • If you imagine biting into a big, juicy lemon, your mouth might start watering.
  • If you think about a happy memory, you might smile or feel warm inside.
  • If you worry about something that hasn’t even happened, your heart might start racing, and you’ll feel anxious.

This happens because your brain controls everything in your body—including your heartbeat, breathing, and emotions.

Your Body’s Two Modes: Stress and Relaxation

Your body has an “on” switch and an “off” switch.

  • Stress Mode (The “On” Switch): If you think about something scary or stressful—like a problem at work or an argument—your body prepares for danger. Your heart beats faster, your muscles tense up, and you feel nervous or anxious.
  • Relax Mode (The “Off” Switch): If you imagine something peaceful—like floating in water or hearing your favorite song—your body calms down. Your breathing slows, your muscles relax, and you feel at ease.

Your brain doesn’t care if the danger is real or just in your mind—it reacts the same way.

Your Thoughts Can Affect Your Stomach

Have you ever been so nervous that you felt sick to your stomach? That’s because your brain and stomach are connected. Stressful thoughts can mess with your digestion, give you stomach pain, or even make you lose your appetite. On the other hand, feeling calm and happy can help your stomach work better.

Think in images.

In The Movie in Your Mind… you are the director, producer, and main character, in your own mental film. You write the script, and you always control the story.

Imagine your thoughts and experiences as scenes in a movie. You have the power to script, direct, and star in this movie, shaping the story-line and deciding how it unfolds.

In the context of human behavior and thinking, your mental movie influences your perceptions, emotions, and actions. The script you create with your thoughts can either be empowering or limiting.

Positive scenes contribute to a feel-good movie, while negative scenes might create a drama or thriller.

In the movie of your mind, you are glued to the screen. And you have different movies, for different areas of your life. People, place, things. PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE.

What is this doing to you? What is the movie in your mind? Are you glued to the screen?

Your Brain Does Not Care What You Feed It.

Your brain will eat what ever you give it. If you say you can or if you say you cant, “your right”. You own The Movie in Your Mind and you wrote the script and you produced it, and you decided who the characters will be.

The movies in our minds program our brain, our conscious mind, and our subconscious mind. The BRAIN, CONSCIOUS MIND, SUBCONSCIOUS MIND: Each have their own unique language, and a unique currency. Their rules and laws will be OBEYED. If we do not know their rules and laws, we use their power randomly, without direction. This UNDIRECTED power can EMPOWER us or DIS-EMPOWER us. Their power works in either director, if you say you cant or if you say you can, it’s all the same to your brain.

The homeless drug addict who wakes up in the garbage because he or she is homeless, does not say “hey today I have no money. Today I will not use drugs” He or she create a movie in the mind and at the end of the day, that drug addict who woke up with no money obtained drugs. He or she created a movie in the mind that led to people places things and situations.

By the same example the drug addict who conquers drug addiction and later becomes a successful business person, obtain college education and have a family, also began with a movie in his or her mind. By these standards he or she could have also become a concert pianist or a rocket scientist. The power in the brain and the subconscious mind, and the movie in the mind always existed. He or she was using that power of The Movie in The Mind. We do this everyday.

That drug addict was me. Heroin, Cocaine, Alcohol, Crack, and Nicotine. I slept on NYC streets for two years and at the time of this writing I have been drug alcohol and nicotine free 36 years. I used no medication no drug treatment facility and I had no support from anyone. I have multiple books in publication and I have owned and operated multiple businesses.

Perhaps you or someone you know is a professional complainer or an expert worrier or a skillful pessimist. They have repeated such thinking and behavior so many times that they achieved greatness. They turned it into a skill. Their brain begins to do it on autopilot. The same rule applies to the successful person or the happy person or the positive person. The Movie in Your Mind creates a program or an app that tells your brain how to make you feel and how to perceive events, people places and things. It even affects how you learn and remember.

This book is the result of me living for decades believing I was a broken child that needed to be fixed. A teacher in the second grade laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a child psychiatrist. She told me I cant. When I asked her why she told me “Because you have to read a lot”. I lived my life believing I could not read “A LOT” and I dropped out of school in the 7th grade and I lived as a janitor dishwasher and foot messenger for decades.

Yet, in my apartment I had a library of books and audio programs on behavioral science, medicine, art, law, and self help. I was writing books with loose leaf paper and a pen. I was doing all of this in two languages. This book, The Movie in Your Mind is a game changer, a USER MANUAL FOR YOUR MIND. It is your guide to THE HUMAN OPERATING SYSTEM.

I refer to this phenomenon where we mentally visualize the events, characters, settings, and actions involved in the narrative or, our perception, of people, places, things, events, or situation, in our life.

When you and I do this, we are creating a rich and immersive experience, like watching a movie. And we are often glued to the screen, subconsciously. Often, we are in a hypnotic, trance-like state.

These mental movies tell our brain how to make us feel by creating and releasing chemical messengers called neurotransmitters.

You write the script. You create the character. You design the plot. You are the star. You are glued to the screen. The Movie in Your Mind can make you powerful or make you weak. You own it and no one can take that power from you.

Example 1: I am not happy in this job. I am overqualified. I’m only here because it feels safe. I think I deserve better. How can I move on safely? Where do I begin?  How do I begin?
